A pressure-type level transmitter was proposed. A diaphragm inside the sensor detects the hydrostatic head pressure of the liquid in the tank and outputs a corresponding 4–20 mA current signal.

Solution review & evaluation
Installing the device at the bottom of the tank eliminated the necessity for work at high elevations. Replacement of the device also became easier, and since the system is remote, the indicator can now be installed wherever it is most convenient to view.
